Description
Land and Water Form Trays:Set 1 and Set 2
Montessori land and water form trays are plastic or wooden models of different types of land and water forms on the earth. They are used to help children learn about geography and earth science. Some examples of land and water forms are:
lake and island
gulf and peninsula
strait and isthmus
system of lakes and archipelago
cape and bay
The trays are typically used with water or sand that children can pour into the trays to visualize where the land and water meet, and how the forms are different. The trays can also be used with nomenclature cards that show the names and images of the land and water forms.
There are two sets of land and water form trays:
Set 1 contains six trays with the following land and water forms: lake, island, gulf, peninsula, strait, isthmus.
Set 2 contains four trays with the following land and water forms: system of lakes, archipelago, cape, bay.
